A Week of Bad, Bad Karma

This has been probably the worst week since I started back to school....Monday I had to start the week off by going to my E-Commerce class to find out the results of probably the hardest exam I have taken in my college career from the hardest test issue, homework crazed Professor! Plus, an Exam in Operations Management that evening with probably the STUPIDEST instructor in possibly, the world. Tuesday was about getting new and painfully awaited crowns put on and meeting an instructor for help with a programming project which was due on Thursday night. Wednesday, I had 2 classes, E-Commerce and Digital Technology where I would have my first Exam of the semester (which is also taught by the "hardest test issue, homework crazed" Professor). Thursday was the day that I needed to turn in my programming project and well, you'll see later in this post!

Monday

Got to school at 11:00 am, went to my E-Commerce class....reluctantly as I really did not want to see my exam score. Of course, the Professor advised us that he was not quite finished grading the exams. Of course this did not make the class very confident that anyone did very well on the test and he said 'Well, there were a couple of 90's and there were a couple of not-so-90's' Geesh, confidence builder there! So got out of class and Mikey, Sophia, and I (The Three Amigos as we call ourselves) decided to go to the student commons to study until our next class at 6:00 pm as all three of us had several exams this week. Mike and I started to work on our programming project which was due on Thursday and both of us were struggling with it. We worked for a couple of hours on that and gave up. I started to get a headache from my toothache and went to the bookstore to pick up more Advil (as I keep forgetting to put some in my backpack) and came back with 4 Advil in a package for $1.59, but hey it comes with a paper cup (actually the cup is the smallest envelope I think in the universe)! I then started studying with some more friends for my Operations Management exam that I had that evening. Man time flies when you are stressed and in pain. 5:50 pm and I remembered that I needed to print my "cheat" sheet with all the formulas for the test. Ran to the library, found 1 computer open, printed out my page (for .05 cents....nothing is free!), threw my backpack on as I was rushing out, saw a bill on the ground....swoosh in my pocket it goes and out the door I went. Got to class with enough time to get a bottled water, out came the bill from the library and OMG, it wasn't $1 bill but $50. I couldn't believe it and started to worry about my Karma for the test! The test was horrid as this STUPID instructor has no idea how to word his test questions with any sense whatsoever that almost every student got up from his desk at least once to ask him what he meant as well as wonder what the heck they were about.....cuz I know I never heard him go over like three of the questions subjects in class. Whatever....I finished and just hope for the best, we'll see on Monday how that turned out.

Tuesday

Brett and I had dentist appointments; he for a cleaning and me for my long awaited crowns. He woke me up at 8:35 and when I looked at the clock I about had a heart attack and asked him why he didn't wake me up sooner (he thought the appts were at 9:30 am). So up I got, hair combed and into a hat, clothes from yesterday and on the floor on, coffee thrown down my throat, teeth brushed (this is important) and out the door we went. I went in first and gave the dentist hell for being on vacation for the last two weeks and leaving me in excrutiating pain with temporary crowns on. He decided to do an xray to see what was going on and decided that I needed a Root Canal, so instead of studying for the exam that I had on Wednesday night prior to going to meet the programming instructor for help on the programming project that was due on Thursday, I went to the Endodontist for a Root Canal at 3:00 pm. When I got there he decided that he would rather do the work on Thursday when he could do it without interruption of his other patients that he had that day. So back to the business of making another appointment AND finding out that I had no dental benefit left for the year....I ended up in tears. Can't take the pressure anymore!!! $1,225.00 for the root canal, $600-700 for the remainder of the crowns and tests up the Ying Yang left for the week......Priceless. 5:00 pm and on my way to meet Mikey to carpool to Portland to meet the programming instructor, but now instead of just me and Mike it is 2 more students from the class for a total of 4 out of 6 students from the class needing help. We spend 2 hours with the instructor and he is not much help, but he realizes that we may need to extend the due date and spend Thursday class time for questions and more instruction on what to do....at least something good came out of it. Back to Mike's to study for the Digital Technology class and do homework for Wednesday's E-Commerce class. Home at 12:30 and finishing up the E-Commerce homework and to bed by 2:30 am.

Wednesday (brother Randy's Birthday)

Pop more pain meds at 9:00 am and in the shower and off to school by 11:00 am. E-Commerce class was nerve-racking as the Professor, like all instructors, decided to wait until the end of class to hand out the exams...and they wonder why students can't focus on lecture! During lecture we find out that the proposal presentation on our group project needs to have a financial analysis done and we (The Three Amigos) thought we were so smart in getting the powerpoint done 2 weeks ago. With this new development, I don't think we are even half way done and it is due on Monday. Never a dull moment! Anyway, we got our exams back and out of 21 students, 15 received a C or lower and I hate to say it I received a 72 before the 5 point curve. It was a very difficult test with too many essay questions. This is the reason that many did not receive a great score as many had to leave questions blank due to time constraints. Well so much for that! Another day of studying after this class for the Digital Technology exam in the evening with the same instructor. Spent all day cramming for this test, which wasn't too bad except that most of the material I just studied fell out of my brain as soon as I sat down to take it. Now I really am beginning to wonder if my $50 Bad Karma is taking its toll. I finished with my b.s.ing as well as I could and home I went (I was the second to the last student to finish the exam). Once I got home I realized I hadn't paid the bills and so there I was at 9:00 paying the bills and becoming more depressed because of our financial situation with the dental, etc. To bed at 12:30 am.

Thursday

8:15 a.m. arrive at the Endodontist office and am treated very well....soft plush blanket, headphones with my favorite music, sunglasses, and Nitrous Oxide....yeah baby!! What a way to relax and forget all your problems. Numb and Oblivious!! Done at 10:30 am, numbing wearing off, tired, and sore. Got home....want to take nap, phone won't stop ringing. Finally get about an hour before I have to meet Mikey at school to work on programming project before we go to class. Get to class at 6:00pm, haven't eaten a thing, starving, and starting to hurt again. I pull out a cliff bar that I had and start to eat little tiny bites and what happens??? My temporary crown comes off.....eeeek, now what? Back to the dentist tomorrow at 9:30 am before my 10:30 class.

WHAT A WEEK!
